Ann Elizabeth Magiris - Registered Psychologist

B.Arts (RMIT)

Post Grad.Dip Educational Psychology (Monash University)

Master of Inclusive Education 

Ann is the Manager and Owner of HYM.  She is a registered Psychologist and provides assessment and therapy services to children aged between 2-15 years.  Ann has been working in the field since 2000, initially as an ABA Therapist with children diagnosed with Autism.  Soon after she commenced working in the Victorian school system in all sectors providing assessments and support to enhance students learning and mental health outcomes. Ann became a fully registered Psychologist in February of 2003.    

Ann is passionate about accurately assessing children's difficulties which leads to helpful treatment plans.  Ann's areas of interests are; Learning Difficulties & Dyslexia, Anxiety, Autism, ADHD, Giftedness,  and School Readiness.

Ann is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Evening appointments offered on Tuesdays.

 

Blair Heading - Registered Psychologist
Bachelor of  Arts (Behavioural Science/Psychology)
Grad Dip in Psychology
Master of Psychology (Educational & Developmental)

Blair is an experienced paediatric psychologist and has been practicing for over 12 years.  He works with children aged between 2-18 and he also works with parents utilising sound behaviour management strategies.   His clinical focus areas are children, adolescents and family centred work, learning support and neuro-cognitive challenges such as autism, ADHD, broader behaviour issues and learning disorders such as dyslexia.   Blair also works with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, OCD, self-harm and trauma.  He has a gentle and warm approach with children and parents.  He uses evidence based interventions which lead to positive changes.  Blair is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  

Sandra Groves - Educational & Developmental Psychologist
Sandra has over 20 years experience in the education sector and is familiar with both government and independent student support services.  Sandra has also worked in private practice settings for many years.  She is experienced in the assessment and intervention of children and adolescents with mental health and learning difficulties.  At HYM Sandra provides learning assessments using the WISC and WIAT tools as well as Autism diagnostic assessments. She also is available to provide counselling/therapy to clients with Mental Health Plans aged between 2-18 years. 

Sandra is available on Wednesday mornings.  

Dominique Harris - Educational Therapist
Diploma of Education Support 
Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology

Dominique is a highly motivated and caring individual who has worked with pre schoolers and older children in educational settings as well as support services over the last 5 years.  Dominique is very passionate about helping children achieve their best in Literacy and Numeracy in a fun and engaging way.   She especially enjoys working with children with special needs as she finds it very rewarding seeing them progress and grow in confidence.  Dominique is available on Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays.
