Ann Elizabeth Magiris - Registered Psychologist

B.Arts (RMIT)

Post Grad.Dip Educational Psychology (Monash University)

Master of Inclusive Education 

Ann is the Manager and Owner of HYM.  She is a registered Psychologist and provides assessment and counselling services to children aged between 2-14 years.  Ann has been working in the field since 2000.  Firstly as an ABA Therapist working with children with Autism.  Soon after she commenced working in the Victorian school system in all sectors providing support to enhance students learning and mental health. Ann became a fully registered Psychologist in February of 2003.    

 

Ann is a proud mother of three beautiful children.  Balancing work and family life is challenging but at the same time it keeps her focussed and grounded. She is passionate about accurately assessing children's difficulties which leads to helpful treatment plans.  Ann's areas of interests are; Learning Difficulties & Dyslexia, Anxiety, Autism, ADHD, Giftedness,  and School Readiness.

Helen is a registered Primary and Early Childhood Education teacher and throughout the past 10 years, has taught children with additional needs from 3 years to 13 years, in both Kindergartens and Primary Schools.   Helen is currently working in early childhood services in the role of teacher and educational leader, her aim is to provide individualized educational programs for children, with a focus on developing the foundations of language, literacy and expressive communication.  Helen has a keen interest in working with children and parents, to tailor learning, using children’s interests and strengths and the resources in the environment to enhance their learning.   

 

More recently, Helen has taught subjects in early childhood education to student teachers in vocational (TAFE) settings and she is currently engaged in further study relating to children with additional needs.

Helen is available for tutoring at HYM on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays after school, and Saturday mornings.
